At Stride to Health in Simsbury, our “Golf Health Program” is designed to first identify areas of imbalance throughout your body and then learn the essential exercises for improving your golf game.

First, a physical therapist will perform a Biomechanical Evaluation (a $90 Value).  The Biomechanical Evaluation includes:

  • Complete “head to toes” physical therapy evaluation
  • Assess the range of motion all of the major joints needed for an ideal golf swing
  • Assess the strength and tension in all the major muscle groups
  • Identification of structural or bony abnormalities which may be effecting your golf game
  • Classification of your “foot type” for both feet into one of twenty-four possible categories.  Your foot type may be affecting your posture during your swing, causing you to hook and slice.

Next, you’ll go through a Golf-Specific Strengthening And Muscle Balance Session (a $60 value).  During this session your physical therapist will teach you how to precisely strengthen the most important muscles associated with a golf swing.  You’ll also learn how to stretch muscles that are usually tense with most golfers, restoring balance to your joints and your golf swing.

Golf strength isn’t about bench presses and heavy weights.  It’s about specific muscle training of typically under-used muscles.  By knowing how to strengthen these often overlooked muscle groups, you’ll be on your way to a shedding some strokes from your golf score.

You’ll also have a full description of the exercises you learn so that you know exactly what to do when you’re working out at home or at the gym.

The Goal Of This Strengthening Is NOT About Creating Big, Bulky Muscles.  You’ll Strengthen The Golf-Specific Muscles In A Way That Focuses On Creating Stability, Balance, And Endurance.
