At Stride to Health, we believe there is a difference between health and fitness. Just because somebody can run a marathon or has six-pack abs, does not guarantee that they are healthy.
“Because There’s A Difference Between Health And Fitness”

Our approach to health is based restoring normal mobility throughout the body, preventing future injuries, exercising in a way that promotes fat burning and low acid production, and maintaining pH balance in the body through nutritional strategies.

Balance is the key to health...specifically pH balance.
Health is simply having a balanced body and mind. A balanced body includes healthy mobility of the joints and muscles, an efficient cardiovascular and lymphatic system, and proper digestion and absorption nutrients from food. A healthy mind is the ability to control your thoughts and resisting the temptations to let negative emotions such as fear, worry, and stress control your life.
When all these “cylinders” of health or functioning properly, then you have the ability to feel great and be healthy without the need for prescription drugs or surgery.
At Stride to Health, we believe that pH balance in the body is the key to optimum health. pH balance in the human body is based on maintaining the alkaline design of the body by reducing the intake of acids through diet, and properly eliminating the acids that your body produces everyday.
Acidic foods include meat, dairy, alcohol, caffeine, sugar, carbonated beverages, and starchy carbohydrates. When the acids of these foods accumulate in the body, the acids can lead to breakdown of muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue. Ultimately, this breakdown of the body plays a major role in causing pain and injuries.
By consuming more alkaline foods and drinks and exercising in a way that reduces the acid load on the body, you can have healthy blood and cells which reduces your risk of injury and pain. To learn more about the basics of pH balance, click here.
In addition to diet, negative thoughts and emotions also lead to more acid production in the body. So even if you ate perfectly alkaline foods, you could still be over-acidic if you are stressing out, frustrated, angry or worried. There is definite truth to the fact that stress makes you age faster and this is an example of acids breaking down the body prematurely.

By restoring and maintaining proper lower extremity biomechanics, proper posture, and flexibility, you can prevent and reverse most musculoskeletal injuries, aches, and pains. Part of our prevention philosophy is the use of foot orthotics. We feel that since most of the population has abnormal foot mechanics, most of the population should wear foot orthotics to prevent cumulative stress on the feet, knees, hips, and spine which eventually leads to debilitating injuries if not properly addressed.
